The recently released Bollywood movie – Shaandaar’s run at the box-office seems over now. The film starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead does not manage to attract audience to the screens. Due to extended weekend, the week was of 4 days and it managed to mint only Rs 32.7cr.
The charm of its lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt worked for its opening day only with a collection of Rs 13.10cr but it dropped significantly on Day 2, Day 3 & now on Day 4.
It released one day before the usual day of release i.e Friday to take the advantage of holiday on the occassion of Dussehra but it seems like the festive season was of no help to its film makers.
Regardless of receiving good reviews from critics, sharing a good chemistry onscreen by its lead pair, a good script and great promotions, yet Shaandaar fails to find its audience in theatres.
A all new cast comedy movie “Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” is over-powering the film and is going superb at the box-office. It is now on the verge to cross Rs 50cr+ mark soon.
Though it managed to find place in “Top 10 highest opening movies of 2015” and also it is highest opening film for Shahid & Alia but the bad news is for the producers. Look at the business done by Shaandaar Hindi movie in its first weekend:
Thursday: Rs 13.10cr (approx)
Friday: Rs 7.55cr (approx)
Saturday: Rs 6.55cr (approx)
Sunday: Rs 5.50cr (approx)
The total collection ends up at Rs 32.7cr approx. It managed only Rs 5.50cr approx on Sunday which is the worst day for the flick in terms of Business and to our surprise even not so good movies find audience on Sunday but Shaandaar did not managed Shaandaar collection.
When the film managed only this much business in the weekend then to see the collection report on weekdays just seems like a formality. But lets see how the film fares in the upcoming holidays of Diwali. If the flick manage to do good business or its theatrical run is over here only? Lets wait and watch.
