Director Bala’s “Thaarai Thappattai” is the latest Tamil to release on Pongal along with Rajini Murugan, Gethu and others. The feature film presented by B Studios & Company Production in association with Ayngaran International is an action drama.

This Pongal gonna be very special with biggest musical extravaganza of 2016 with Bala’s “Thaarai Thappattai”. The combination of Bala and Ilaiyaraaja has created sensation in the Tamil film industry.
After Rajini Murugan, Thaarai Thappattai is the most hyped film and bagged more than 130 screens in the Chennai circle. Most of the shows of the film on very first day of its release are filling fast which started with advance ticket bookings.
The viewers will rediscover the dance form – ‘Karakattam’ in this musical masterpiece. Its story is about a man named Sannasi. Sannasi is the head of Karagattam troupe “Thara Thappattai”. The forgotten Tamil folk art form of Karagaatam has been described in the flick.
The troupe makes their best efforts to save the slowly dying art. There is also a message in the film for public for preserving their art. Its music by Ilaiyaraaja is the greatest strength of the film.
The film features M. Sasi Kumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles while G. M. Kumar & R. K. Suresh in the supporting roles.
Ilaiyaraaja has composed the film’s music based on Karakattam. Its audio tracks are already a hit among masses. This film also happens to be Ilaiyaraaja’s 1000th film.
The Writter and Director Bala deserves an applaud and appreciation for choosing such a script and also for executing it so brilliantly. After delivering hits like Sethu, Nandha, Pithamagan and Paradesi now Thaarai Thappattai is here to win hearts on big screen.
